William R. “Bill” Kelley of East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026.

Bill grew up in the Houghs Neck portion of Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School. He then went on and received his bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College, where he studied education and history. Bill taught 5th and 6th grade in the town of Weymouth for over 30 years. Many of his happiest moments were with family and in nature, where he enjoyed fishing, swimming, hiking, and wildlife. An avid reader, Bill loved going to local libraries and read countless books on history. He also loved listening to music and playing with his grandchildren. He will be most remembered for his ability to light up any room with his jokes, cartoons, and loving personality. Bill will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Bill was the beloved husband of 47 years to Anne M. Kelley (Davenport) of East Bridgewater. Loving father of Jeffrey M. Kelley and his wife Denise of Wrentham, and of Jennifer L. Wakeling and her husband Robert of Mansfield. Cherished grandfather of Nolan, Liam, Robbie, and Abby. Caring brother of the late Brian Kelley and son of the late Gwendolyn and Romanus Kelley.  Also survived by many cherished friends and relatives.
