Obituary

Mark Cameron Richardson, 70, loving husband of Maxine T. Richardson, of Beaufort, S.C., entered eternal rest on Saturday, December 5, 2020, at his residence. Mark was born April 29, 1950, in Bad Cannstatt, Germany, the son of the late Hal Clyde Richardson Jr. and Louise Sharp Richardson.

After living around the world and attending many schools as an Army dependent, Mark was a graduate of UMass-Amherst. He was a proud dad of his two girls. He loved people and chatting with them, especially during his walks with his beloved companion, Piper. He was known for his quick wit and his kind compassionate spirit. Mark had a passion for photography and loved the beautiful landscapes, sunsets and wildlife that Beaufort offers.

He was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church, where he served on the Council and for many years as Sunday School Superintendent and loved working with the children. Upon moving to the Lowcountry he found a new spiritual home at the Parish Church of St. Helena and was becoming a part of the community.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Maxine, are two daughters, Johanna Javadizadeh (Kamran) and Jamie Richardson (Brian Curran), his stepmother, Frances Richardson, his sister, Lauren Farrell (Joseph), one grandchild, Juniper Javadizadeh and nieces, Kerry Carroll, Keely Farrell and nephew, Brett Farrell.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Parish Church of St. Helena, First Ev. Lutheran Church in Brockton, MA or Hilton Head Humane Association.

Graveside funeral services were held Friday, December 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Helena Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to Covid-19. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
