Christine “Stina” F. (Johnson) Swann

Christine “Stina” F. Swann of Lakeville, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, with her family by her side. She was 66 years young and had been struggling with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease for the past 9 years.

Stina was born in Brockton, MA, on Wednesday, December 26, 1956, the daughter of the late Lester R. and Edna C. (Winberg) Johnson. She graduated from Brockton High School, class of 1974 and attended Southeastern Massachusetts University (now UMass Dartmouth), earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1978.

After college, Stina worked as a Nurse Case Manager in several home health agencies, including Brockton VNA, Bridgewater VNA, Community Healthcare in Attleboro, and Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital. She retired from Coastline Elderly Services of New Bedford in 2014. A lifelong Lutheran, she was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brockton, MA, where she sang in the choir and was active in the Food Pantry and Parish Nursing. First Lutheran is also where she met her soulmate and future husband as a teenager in 1973. Stina was a gifted fabric artisan and created many Scandinavian and Irish knit sweaters, quilts, and other handwork for friends and family – gifts that will forever keep her in our hearts.

In addition to her husband Randy Swann of 43 years, she leaves her two sons, Ethan Swann and his partner Michelle Wilson of Lakeville and Caleb Swann and his wife Liz Wood of Nashua, NH. She also leaves her mother-in-law Kathy Swann of South Yarmouth, brother-in-law Mark Swann and his wife Mary of Portland, ME, sister-in-law Janet Johnson of Reading, brother-in-law David Maisch of Foxboro, brother-in-law David O’Sullivan of Raynham, brothers Peter Johnson of Huntington Beach, CA, and Paul Johnson and his wife Joan of Stafford Springs, CT, and sister Wendie Johnson of Punta Gorda, FL, and her many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Richard Swann, mother-in-law Paula Crouch, sister-in-law Pamela Maisch, brother Lester Johnson II and sister Charlene O’Sullivan.

Visiting hours for Christine will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00PM & 7:00 – 9:00PM, at Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home 280 Bedford Street Lakeville, MA 02347. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at 10:00AM, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 900 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301. FUNERAL: Tuesday, 5/23, at 10 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Brockton, MA followed by coalition in the Vestry hosted by the Pastor’s Aid Ministry
