Robert Diercks, Artist: After teaching design and art courses full-time for 33 years, Professor Emeritus Robert Diercks teaches one semester a year at Franklin Pierce University. For this abbreviated cycle of The Stations of the Cross, he was inspired by a recent Exhibition at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum of the local Boston artist, Alan Rohan Crite.

Introduction

We gather on this day as Christian united in prayer. In the midst of our busy lives we pause to pray as we reflect on the suffering journey of Christ. The journey that Jesus makes with the Cross is a symbol of Christianity in the world, as it struggles with its own crosses and failures, and the challenges of modern life.
