Worship with Us
Sunday - 7:45am & 9am
The Sixth Sunday after the Epiphany
February 12, 2017
Services at 7:45 & 9 am
In today’s reading from Deuteronomy we are called to choose life by loving and obeying God. Much of today’s gospel reading echoes portions of the Ten Commandments. Jesus’ instructions to the crowd reveal a pattern of behavior that honors both God and the neighbor, resulting in life and health for the whole community. We, too, are invited to embrace these commandments, not out of fear of retribution, but because God has promised that to do so means life for us.
Food for Friends Food Pantry
Food for Friends Food Pantry was established in 2007 to meet the rising need within the community to serve those who were food insecure. Today the pantry serves over 200 families on a monthly basis and in 2012 distributed nearly 250,000 pounds of food into the Brockton community. We are a member agency of the Greater Boston Food Bank.
We are open the second Saturday of each month from 9 am to 11 am for Brockton residents only. Please bring proof of residency, income and proof of identity for each household member.
Volunteers are always needed on distribution day and are always welcome to come as able between 8 am and Noon.
