On Wednesday of this week, November 11, we pause to honor our veterans both past and present. We give thanks to Almighty God for those men and women who gave their lives in the defense of our sacred freedoms and for those who served and continue to serve their country. We ask God's protective hand be with those serving in harm's way now and always.
Next Saturday, November 14, is the open date for the food pantry. If you are able to stop by and lend a hand for an hour or so, it would be most appreciated. With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, it will undoubtedly be a very busy day.

Thank you to those members of First who baked for the Marshfield Mission event last Saturday and for those who attended the event. Approximately 50 people attended this event representing all of the churches of the Southeastern Massachusetts Conference of the New England Synod. Nine members of First were in attendance at the event. Fun and exciting things will be happening in Marshfield!
Stewardship 2010 Update: The stewardship response has been good; however, we are still a long way from our goal both in terms of pledge units making a pledge and dollars pledged. Pledge cards are available from the ushers or on the table in the hallway outside of the church for those who were not here the last two weeks. Please carefully consider your 2010 level of commitment to the work of First Lutheran and place your pledge card in the offering plate at the time of the offering. Thank you for your commitment to your church.
